Train with Experienced Ultra Runners Andy Delderfield and Rich Casement
Take on Ultra X England 2025 with expert coaching from two seasoned ultra runners. Whether you're aiming for 50km, 60km, or a multi-day 110km, weβll guide you every step of the way.
Ultra training alone is tough, self-doubt creeps in, motivation dips, and uncertainty slows progress. Our structured coaching, accountability, and community support will prepare you physically and mentally for race day.
Join a team of like-minded runners, train with purpose, and build the resilience needed to conquer your ultra challenge.
Without experience or guidance, every decision feels like a gamble.
Am I running enough or too much?
What should I eat on long runs?
How do I prevent my legs from feeling heavy after consecutive sessions?
Searching online can leave you overwhelmed with conflicting information. You need expert advice, but there is no one to turn to.
Solo training runs can feel lonely.
You try to stay motivated, but it is different when you have no one to share the experience with.
No one to celebrate with when you reach a new milestone
No one to reassure you when you struggle
No one to check in after a tough session
When motivation dips, and it inevitably will, there is no one to keep you accountable.
No Accountability Leads to Missed Sessions and Doubt
Cold mornings, exhaustion, or a stressful day at work make skipping a run tempting. Without external accountability, missed sessions add up.
Soon, self-doubt creeps in.
One missed run turns into two.
You begin questioning whether you are cut out for this.
The negative voice in your head whispers that you are not ready, not good enough, and bound to fail
Without a coach, a structured plan, or training partners, backing out becomes all too easy.
As race day approaches, anxiety grows.
What if I have not trained enough?
What if I cannot keep up with the pace?
What if I do not finish and all my hard work is wasted?
Self-doubt becomes the biggest challenge, and without the right support, it is difficult to overcome.
The reality of poor preparation, burying your head during training results in poor planning.
Andy did not start as an ultra runner. His journey began with road marathons, progressing gradually from struggling with consistency to achieving strong performances. After completing several marathons, including London, Paris, Amsterdam, and Valencia, he realised he wanted more of a challenge.
Seeking something beyond traditional road racing, he entered his first ultra event, the Beyond the Ultimate Ice Ultra in Sweden. The experience tested him in extreme conditions, pushing his physical and mental limits in ways he had never experienced before. From there, he tackled other extreme endurance events, including the Desert Ultra in Namibia, covering 250km across brutal terrain, and the Ultra in Kenya, a 230km race through the savannas, where the heat and terrain added another layer of difficulty.
These challenges coincided with a major shift in his life - going alcohol-free. Removing alcohol helped him regain clarity, discipline, and resilience, allowing him to push his endurance further than ever before. The lessons from both running and sobriety reinforced his belief that resilience and mindset are just as critical as physical training. Now, he shares these hard-earned lessons with others looking to take on their own endurance challenges, proving that the toughest battles are often fought in the mind.
Richβs journey into running began in 2007 with parkrun, but it wasnβt until 2014 that he truly fell in love with the sport. Signing up for his first marathon, he crossed the Berlin Marathon finish line under the iconic Brandenburg Gate, overwhelmed by a surge of emotion. Achieving something that once felt impossible ignited a passion that would transform his life.
Just two weeks later, he ran the Yorkshire Marathon in 3 hours and 42 minutes, solidifying running as a core part of who he was. Over the next few years, he completed five more marathons, pushing his limits further with each race.
In 2022, Rich made a life-changing decision, he went alcohol-free. What started as a personal challenge soon became a gateway to something bigger. With a clearer mind, stronger body, and renewed focus, he pushed himself further than ever before. That same year, he discovered trail running through βThe Peaky Runners,β a community of inspiring athletes who introduced him to ultra-marathons. In October, he conquered his first ultra: 35 miles around Ladybower Reservoir in the Peak District.
For Rich, endurance racing mirrors life, proof that with resilience and belief, anything is possible. Now, he finds as much joy in supporting others as he does in chasing his own goals, showing that transformation starts from within.

Both Andy and Rich are experienced ultra runners who have taken on some of the worldβs most challenging endurance events. Andy is currently competing in the Beyond the Ultimate global race series, having already completed the Ice Ultra in Sweden, the Desert Ultra
in Namibia, and a five-day, 250km run across the savannah's of Kenya. Each of these extreme multi-day events pushes the limits of endurance, resilience and mental strength.
Rich, on the other hand, has focused on epic single day challenges closer to home, completing some of the UKβs toughest ultras, including 35 miles around Ladybower Reservoir in the Peak District, the Pennine Barrier 50 miler, the Ultra X Summer Series 75km and the Mavericks Osprey Lake District Ultra 55km.
Both have faced the darkest moments in ultra running, those times when every step feels impossible, and have developed powerful strategies to push through and emerge stronger.
As positive psychology coaches, they understand that ultra distance running is 80% mental and 20% physical.
This programme is designed to help you build both.
Whether you're tackling your first ultra or looking to go beyond your limits, their tried and tested coaching methods have successfully guided runners from 5km to full marathons and beyond.
